From Classrooms to Healthcare, BTS Showcases AI Solutions That Address Everyday Community Needs

JAKARTA, October 1, 2026 – Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly present in everyday life. From supporting learning in the classroom to assisting healthcare workers during examinations, AI has evolved from a digital innovation into a practical solution for the real needs of the community. One such effort comes from Sinar Mas, through PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA), Sinar Mas's pillar for Energy and Digital Infrastructure, together with iFLYTEK through PT Brilian Teknologi Sejahtera (BTS), a joint venture focused on developing AI-based solutions across sectors, including education and healthcare.

According to Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystem at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), AI is much needed to help meet the needs of society. "This is excellent, truly remarkable. As we can see, these are innovations that genuinely address our needs. In education, this becomes especially important in helping to deliver innovation," said Edwin.

The solutions showcased today demonstrate how AI can support everyday activities, from learning to healthcare services.

Inclusive and Responsible AI

Ferry Salman, Managing Director of Sinar Mas

Share to
, highlighted the importance of ensuring that AI development goes hand in hand with good governance and benefits that reach the wider public. "All of this must be regulated. So there must be surveillance and control as well. However, inclusivity is the most important thing, so that this technology can bring prosperity to the Indonesian people and improve their welfare," said Ferry.

BTS, a subsidiary of DSSA, showcased a smart board and smart whiteboard designed to make learning more interactive. Beyond functioning as a digital whiteboard, the technology uses AI to help students understand problem-solving step by step.

AI Supporting Primary Healthcare

AI was also showcased in the healthcare sector. One of the solutions introduced uses AI to assist medical workers in the diagnostic process, particularly for primary healthcare needs. The system can help match patients' symptoms with possible diagnoses and support the evaluation of appropriate medication use.

Technology That Addresses Real Needs

Solutions like these are increasingly relevant in Indonesia, where digital technology is expected not only to be advanced but also to solve the problems people face. The government is also encouraging the productive use of AI in strategic sectors such as education and healthcare, while emphasizing the importance of governance to keep technological development safe and responsible.

Amid the accelerating pace of digital transformation, the challenge is no longer simply how advanced a technology can be, but how innovation can be applied in ways that are safe, inclusive, and relevant to the people of Indonesia.
